Deborah Ellington of D. Ellington Art Studio and Robbie MacIver and Ron Page of Heights Art Glass are pleased to be showing at the Febrary Frist Saturday Arts Market, located in Historic Houston Heights.
The studios are collaborating to present works created in fused and stained glass mediums.
Both studios create original work using the elements and principles of design. Each handmade piece makes a great addition or gift for a wide variety of tastes and styles. For those hard-to-shop-for individuals on your shopping list, an original one-of-a-kind glass work creates a lasting memory.
Heights Art Glass creations have been recognized in juried showings. Using both Tiffany copper foil and leaded glass methods, Ron & Robbie’s stained glass work focuses on the flow of lines and colors in both organic and geometric designs. Their warm glass work explores how glass reacts to heat, experimenting with new combinations of glass and construction techniques to obtain truly unusual results in design and color.
Deborah from D. Ellington Art Studio is a painter who also works in warm glass using a variety of techniques. She has taught at Lone Star College Montgomery and Harmony Stained Glass.
Deborah’s inspiration for the choices she makes for texture, colors, and design comes from nature. She creates original fused glass works using a variety of techniques and types of glass. To achieve unique shapes and textures, Deborah also creates her own original slumping molds. The work consists of functional and decorative pieces.
First Saturday Arts Market is a monthly outdoor juried fine arts event featuring the works of dozens of visual artists. The market showcases paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry and glass art items. The entire family is welcome to come enjoy the great outdoors, live music and delicious fare from some of the area’s best gourmet food trucks.
